The 2010
Alberta Senior Provincial Team Trials will be held on
Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at the NAIT
Gymnasium, 11762 – 106 Street, Edmonton, Alberta. There
will be Color Belt and Junior Black Belt competition, in
addition to the Senior Black Belt Team Trials.

will be Alberta Team training in Red Deer on
January
10, 2010, including more LaJust practice. All
junior and senior black belts welcome.

Tracksuits are being embroidered now. If they are not
ready before Jr. Nationals, Magdalena will bring them
personally to Halifax and give them to everyone there
and the rest will be sent out to the clubs.
Also, Team
training in Halifax will be in the Ballroom of the Host
Hotel on Friday from 2:30 - 3:30pm - all athletes and
coaches are expected to attend.
We
would like all Junior Athletes attending the 2010 Junior
Nationals to please email Magdalena Szczotka (szczotka@ualberta.ca)
with their emergency contact info and Alberta Health
Care number, along with their arrival dates and times.

2009 Junior Provincial
Team Trials
Results of the 2009 Junior Team Trials
Thank you for sending your
students for helping out and officiating at the Alberta
Junior Team Trial last Saturday. It was a successful
events with 235 color and black belt participants and 65
Junior Black Belt competitors.
The ringleaders were Master
Linda Kwan, Mrs. Susanne Mitchell, Mr. Glen Berger and
Ms. Tracy Bonertz. They did a wonderful job running the
rings and most importantly mentoring and providing
invaluable feedbacks to the newer referees.
Master K.S. Kim, Mr. David
Zyluk, Mr. Harvey Strome, Mr. Mike Lecren, Mr. Pete
Allen, Ms. Kathie Spenst, Dr. Chokri Dridi, Dr. Grant
Hauer, Mr. Gary Miller, Miss. Jennifer Zyluk, Miss.
Cecilia Lee, Miss. Lauren Schlauch, Mr. Jeff Mejia,
Miss. Katherine Gray, Miss. Siobhan Buck, Miss. Connie
Wong and Mrs. Leanne Friesen did a remarkable job to
make sure the competitions were fair and smooth running.
Master Rennie, Master
Froese, Mr. Dwayne (U. of A. Club), Mr. Alfred Jung and
Mr. Carlos Casillas helped us out in corner judging when
the referees needed a break. The tournament
started promptly at 9:30am and ended at 6:30pm, thanks
to the hardwork (just 30 minutes lunch break) of our
referees - I salute you for your tireless effort!
