2010 Senior Provincial
Championships -
Saturday, March 20th
Dear Grandmasters, Masters,
Instructors and Referees,
Thank you a great deal to encourage
your students to help out at the Senior Provincial
Championships. There were a total of 25 showed up to help out
officiating the events.
We started the day with a meeting at
9:30am and divided our group into 4 rings:
Ring A with Master Peterman as
ringleader supported by Master G.S. Kim, Wayne Kruger, Harry
Reid and Jeff Mejia.
Ring B with Mr. Gilles Leclerc
supported by Christine Salt, Anna Muller, Asad Chaudhary and
Siobhan Buck.
Ring C with Ms. Tracy Bonertz
supported by Richard Ashby, Doug Nesterchuk, Carlita
Harbidge,Gary Miller and Ryan Harbidge.
Ring D with Mr. David Zyluk and
co-captain Mr. Pete Allen (from Saskatchewan) supported by Alain
Johnson, Lauren Schlauch, Connie Wong and Katie Harbidge.
Master Renie, Master Froese,
Jennifer Zyluk, Alfred Jong, Jessica Johnson and Kevin Mejia
worked as lunch substitutes.
Children's colour belts and junior
black belts poomsae began at 10:15am and followed by sparring at
11:30. We did not break for lunch; kudos to the lunch relief
referees helped us through the difficult time with only 15
minutes per person for lunch. Adult colour belts poomsae
and sparring started at 2:30pm; followed by the black belt
poomsae at 3:30pm and the main event of the Provincial Team
Trial soon followed. The last match finished at 6:15pm and
we had a short meeting for the black belts competitors and
referees.
It was an exciting day for us
because a few of the referees were fairly new to the Provincial
Championships and I must add that they did a fantastic job.
Also we would like to extend a special thank to Master Rim from
Red Deer to help judging our over 5th Dan Poomsae competition.
Once again, we could not do it without your help. We salute
again for your dedication and commitment to our Alberta
athletes.
Yours in Taekwondo,
Eric Wah, Alberta Referee Chairman
